Storytelling - photo Roberto Marossi

Storytelling, the exhibition of 35 paintings created from 1992 onwards by Chinese artist Liu Ye that opened at Prada Rong Zhai in 2018, has now moved on to Milan. In Shanghai, Liu Ye’s works blended harmoniously with Prada Rong Zhai’s original furnishings, decorations and colours, creating a symbiotic relationship with the intimate spaces and small rooms of the historic residence built in 1918. In Milan, meanwhile, the colours and materials of the paintings contrast with the concrete walls and the industrial environment of Fondazione Prada, creating a new narrative sequence and an enigmatic contrast with the large exhibition spaces.
