On October 9th and 10th, 2026, Ocean&Climate Village arrives at the Luna Rossa base in Cagliari with a new display concept developed by design and research studio Formafantasma. Among the key initiatives arising from the renewed partnership between Luna Rossa and UNESCO for the 38th America’s Cup, the exhibition marks the start of a new phase for the Ocean&Climate Village, with a display that has been evolved to offer a systemic analysis of the ocean. Visitors are invited to learn about the connections between biological, climatic and geological processes, with the aim of moving beyond a fragmented view of environmental issues and highlighting the ocean’s role in the mechanisms that support life on Earth.

    THE EXHIBITION TOUR

The exhibition is organized into four themed sections that guide visitors in discovering the connections that regulate the ocean system. Each section adds a new layer of understanding, showing how seemingly unrelated phenomena are actually part of a single system.

    Educational workshops for children

The programme will be complemented by educational workshops designed as a natural extension of the visit and inspired by the principles of Ocean Literacy, with the aim of transforming knowledge into direct experience and fostering a more mindful relationship with the ocean. Led by SEA BEYONDers Enzo Barracco, Valentina Gottlieb, Carmelo Isgrò and Elisabetta Zavoli, the workshops are structured around four complementary activities – observing, sharing stories, connecting and representing – offering participants a variety of tools and ways of expressing themselves to explore the sea and understand its value.
The programme will also feature contributions from Luna Rossa and Fondazione Prada with Accademia dei bambini.

    Explorers of the Blue

A journey to discover the hidden wonders of the Mediterranean. Using a compass, a hydrophone and a microscope, participants will be able to observe marine organisms that are normally invisible to the naked eye at close quarters, learning to view the sea from a new and surprising perspective.

    The Rhythm of the Ocean

Through movement, breathing and simple exercises inspired by waves, currents and marine animals, the children will enjoy an immersive experience that will help them discover how the sea is a dynamic and interconnected system, constantly in motion.

    The Ocean on Air

Drawing on the experience of the ‘Oltre la Riva’ podcast, the students will discover how images, emotions, data and personal accounts can be transformed into stories that raise awareness and engage listeners. Working in groups, they will develop ideas and formats for new podcasts focusing on the sea and the challenges it faces.

    Portraits from the Sea

Inspired by Anna Atkins, a pioneer of scientific photography, this workshop introduces participants to the cyanotype technique. Using seaweed, shells and other natural materials, students will create original works that combine art, observation and the discovery of marine biodiversity.

    In a Drop

A workshop dedicated to exploring the invisible world contained within every drop of water. Children will be guided on a journey of discovery through the extraordinary abundance of life that characterises aquatic ecosystems, giving shape to a micro-universe.

    The Art of Knots
