A vital component of Prada’s heritage and a hallmark of its approach to contemporary fashion, nylon is an emblem of the brand DNA. The Prada Re-Nylon project represents a commitment to sustainable and truly responsible practice.
“Our ultimate goal will be to convert all Prada virgin nylon into Re-Nylon by the end of 2021. This project highlights our continued efforts towards promoting a responsible business. This collection allows us to make our contribution and create products without using new resources.”
Lorenzo Bertelli, Head of Marketing & Head of CSR Prada S.p.A.
First debut in 2019 with a capsule bag collection of six classic styles for men and women, the Prada Re-Nylon 2020 collection expanded and extended, translating into Prada ready-to-wear for the first time and redefined both of Prada’s signature nylon textiles in sustainable Re-Nylon fabrication: nylon gabardine and nylon Piuma. Alongside ready-to-wear, the collection features the first Re-Nylon footwear - new iterations of the Monolith combat boots and shoes, low- and high-top sneakers -, hats, belts and multiple bag silhouettes for men and women, including belt-bags, backpacks, cross-body styles and an archival Re-Edition style drawn from 2000.
Representing a commitment to sustainable practice now and in the future, the expansion of the Prada Re-Nylon offering renews a company-wide estimate goal for sustainability: to convert all Prada virgin nylon into regenerated nylon by the end of 2021.
