Jessica Alba, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gigi and Bella Hadid, Beyoncé and Jay Z and Léa Seydoux, not to mention Roman Abramovich and the Rockefeller family, are all frequent visitors to the island of Saint Barts, an exquisite meeting point for international and American jetsetters and a place where memorable parties are held in spectacular villas or onboard the most famous yachts. Now Prada has launched it latest Caribbean store on the island’s seafront.
Inspired by the architecture of 1950s villas, the space recalls an elegant beach house. It has a single storey with 200 m² of floor space, home to the men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, accessory and footwear collections and a selection of products created especially for the shop. The interior features classic Prada elements reinterpreted with a ‘holiday’ feel, in rooms with an exotic and sun-kissed atmosphere typical of the Leeward Islands.
Lit entirely with natural light, filtered through the large windows and wooden brise soleil, the space has a black and white chequered marble floor combined with natural materials like wood and an original white and yellow striped ceiling, creating a casual yet elegant environment. The walls of the rooms are decorated with brightly coloured, creative and original canvases, while the collections are displayed on wooden shelves, either bare or printed with various motifs.
An atmosphere of sophisticated simplicity abounds, offering the sensation of a luxurious and relaxing holiday.
