As part of the “Crafting the Future of Fashion” summit in Milan, organised by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (National Chamber for Italian Fashion – CNMI), Patrizio Bertelli, CEO of Prada SpA, took part in a roundtable alongside Stefano Sassi, CEO at Valentino and Renzo Rosso, President of OTB (Diesel).
Bertelli outlined his vision for the evolution of the fashion and luxury goods industry, underlining in particular how luxury must always be synonymous with the highest quality, and how craftsmanship and handmade skills are essential for a luxury brand to succeed. He also made clear that it should be style and creativity that shape marketing activities and not the other way round, and stressed that business models will have to be reviewed in the near future to take into account the growth of the markets, including at an industrial level.
Other speakers included Franca Sozzani, Director of Vogue Italia, Livia Firth, Creative Director at Eco-Age and Silvia Venturini Fendi, Creative Director for Menswear, Childrenswear and Accessories at Fendi, as well as the Chairman of the CNMI Carlo Capasa.
