On June 22th, Miuccia Prada was granted the title of Knight of the Grand Cross, the highest Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. The honour was awarded by Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.
The ceremony was held at in the prestigious Galeoni Hall in Palazzo Chigi, the seat of government.
The Prime Minister explained that this title was awarded in recognition of Miuccia Prada’s international success and her contribution on behalf of Italy to the fields of creativity, fashion and style – fields in which she has become an international benchmark – as well as in recognition of Prada’s cultural values, which her Foundation promotes.
“Much of the merit for this honour is due to my family and to all my business collaborators, whose work and dedication contributed to the growth of Prada around the world”, said Miuccia Prada in her speech of thanks to the President of the Republic and Prime Minister.
