The Prada Women’s Fall/Winter 2016 runway show continues the research that began with the Menswear Collection Fall/Winter 2016 presented in January and explores the history of the female universe. Women with different personalities and from different periods coexist on the runway to form a striking collage. The idea of a “wandering woman” strongly emerges: she seeks a direction in her life, her past and even in her thoughts. This concept is evident in the assembly of various masculine and feminine elements such as heavy wools, corsets, and large pendants. Lamé, wool cloth, velvet and nylon are highlighted: each fabric expresses a style and a cliché, from feminine to sexy, from classic moods to modern times.
Prints, created in cooperation with artist Christophe Chemin, take us on a journey deep within the feminine soul.
Bags are sporty, created for adventure, while footwear alternates hiking boots and gold sandals.
The runway venue designed by OMA / AMO symbolizes the “piazza”, the quintessential public place where the most important ceremonies of history have taken place in the past and still occur today.
