The new collection almost irrationally brings together different moments in time and their main characters. The looks pair materials that represent different eras: garments such as cloaks, Hawaiian shirts and sailor hats are like flashes from the past, and combining them creates a highly contemporary fashion concept.
In line with the thinking that underpins the collection, the designs of the prints, created in collaboration with Christophe Chemin, summarise a piece of research in “romantic paintings” that “sew together” various epochs.
Designed by OMA / AMO, the show space symbolises the town square, the ultimate public space, where the most important ceremonies have always taken place through history, and continue to do so.
Some women’s outfits were also shown for this collection, confirming Prada’s interest in exploring the relationship between the two genders.
