Willy Vanderperre’s sophisticated and emblematic photographs once again take centre stage, this time in a special ‘Day Trip’ project for the Prada Resort 2017 collection. In this new narrative the protagonist, Kiki Willems, appears lost in thought, leading her to slip away into a journey through her imagination. She sneaks into a dark building on her own, where she is depicted in dream-like rooms, or against stark backdrops.
The images focus on the style of the collection and its highly feminine details and symbols: a universe where bows, daisies, and polka dots mix in a language intentionally skewed in subtle or exaggerated directions.
The images have been assembled in an exquisite catalogue, available in the stores displaying the photographs, and will be published exclusively on Prada’s website and through the brand’s social media platforms. In addition, like past special projects created with Vanderperre, blown-up versions of the most striking images will feature in a select number of Prada stores: New York’s Broadway Epicenter and Madison Avenue stores, Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, Via Montenapoleone in Milan, Bond Street in London, Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris and Aoyama Epicenter in Tokyo.
