Prada has released two new and exclusive fragrances: La Femme Prada and L’Homme Prada. The names are misleading: who are the Prada Woman and the Prada Man? They do not exist, since they both have myriad dimensions. This is the precise concept that both fragrances express: a multitude of juxtaposed sensations, sometimes contradictory: vibrant, light, pure, sensual, masculine and feminine, all woven together in a sensory journey through space, time and memory.
Their sophisticated elegance stems from the high quality ingredients: frangipani, vanilla, ylang ylang softened by beeswax, tuberose and vetiver combine to form La Femme Prada, whilst L’Homme Prada comprises neroli, pepper, amber, violet, iris, geranium, cedar and patchouli. Both fragrances also stand out for their interchangeability: “There is no such thing as a flower with a specifically masculine or feminine fragrance. Nor are there masculine or feminine names for flowers, nor flowers for men or flowers for women” (Miuccia Prada).
This concept is also clearly apparent in the design of the two bottles, which are two complementary, rather than contrasting, parts of a whole, only distinguished by the white Saffiano leather, gold Prada logo and amber reflections of the bottle for La Femme Prada and the black Saffiano leather, silver logo and titanium reflections on the L’Homme Prada bottle.
