The new Prada Scandicci plant has an area of 11,600 m2 and covers the full leather goods production cycle. It was designed from the start to be as environmentally-friendly as possible, with the firm voluntarily initiating the international LEED certification process.
The factory’s new saw-tooth roof is equipped with photovoltaic panels, and the entire plant engineering system features cutting-edge eco-friendly solutions, with energy consumption reduced to a minimum.
Inside, the plant is split into two levels.
The ground floor contains warehouses for storing raw materials and finished goods, an automated cutting centre, making use of innovative machinery, and testing facilities.
The first flooris home to the premium/made-to-order workshop and manufacturing facilities:both guarantee the achievement of the excellence in production, as well as the work’s quality.
In addition, an office building, linked to the manufacturing building by a glass and aluminium connecting structure, comprises a large reception, waiting rooms, a staff canteen and office and pattern–making spaces.
