Marchesi 1824 is renewing its support of the winter edition of CARE’s – The ethical Chef Days (Alta Badia, Italy, 14 – 17 January 2018) for a third year, with the 2018 Social Responsibility Award presented to Contrada Bricconi in Valzurio, near Bergamo.
Contrada Bricconi is the result of Giacomo Perletti and Matteo Trapletti’s wish to bring a place full of tradition back to life. They are restoring the original wooden and stone buildings, bursting with over five centuries of history, for farming and as tourist accommodation.
This is a work in progress, carried out with the conviction that a centuries-old tradition can be revived among the meadows and woods of Valzurio and broadcast to the world.
The award forms part of CARE’s, an event Marchesi 1824 has supported since its launch. The firm shares with the initiative a belief in the principles of sustainability, care for the local communities and environmental protection, all three of which are clearly demonstrated by the Contrada Bricconi project.
