The iconic Paris department store Galeries Lafayette will be dressed entirely in Prada from 31 July to 20 August, a particularly important period due to the large number of tourists due to arrive in the French capital.
As well as all of the large, prestigious windows on Boulevard Haussmann, the four windows next to the entrance to the menswear building will also be dedicated to Prada. In addition, the takeover will also feature two pop-up stores, one in each of the main entrances of the Galeries Lafayette’s two buildings, the customisation of the footbridge connecting the menswear and womenswear buildings and two displays on the first and third floors of the menswear section.
Outside, a huge poster, with a sequence of designs focusing on Prada’s view of the role of women in contemporary society, will cover both the window spaces and the building’s facade.
Inside, the women’s pop-up store will have a shell design with a circular video wall at its centre, a sort of lantern marking the intimate and welcoming retail space, while the men’s pop-up store will be completely visible within the grid structure surrounding it.
Finally, the footbridge between the two buildings will be decorated with a special ‘giant edition’ of Prada’s iconic Robot Tricks.
