In this collection Miu Miu spotlights a woman who embodies many characters put together. More a “country girl” than a “city girl”. One who dresses to suit her personality. It’s “the idea of looking good with what you have”.
The collection stems from a pair of boxers and a male shirt which turn into many other things, in a different vision of the woman’s wardrobe: the mini dress, the long skirt, the coat made of denim (denim is a major presence in the collection) or upholstery fabric, worn with high heels or backless shoes. Note the black or check riding outfits worn like a formal suit, the ultra-feminine dress with a sweetheart neckline and the upholstery coat with appliquéd embroidery and rhinestones.
Miu Miu’s iconic bags display sumptuous fabrics and rich decorative details. For footwear, extremely sensuous lasts and heights alternate with rather more laid-back models.
For the show space AMO simulates the atmosphere of a traditional hall, amplifying the monumentality of Perret’s Palais d’Iena.
Chairs and poufs are arranged in lounges along the naves of the Salle Hypostyle defining three main alleys while the guests are informally seated facing each other.
Delicate velvets and brocades confer a domestic yet opulent feeling to the space while an enfilade of mirrors magnifies the hall and its solemnity.
Amongst the international guests attending the show were Zoe Kazan and Paul Dano, Chloë Sevigny, Stacy Martin, Emma Greenwell and Millie Brady.
