Four-time Oscar winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s project ‘CARNE y ARENA’, based on the experiences of migrants and refugees, will be presented in a world premiere between 17 and 28 May at the 70th Festival de Cannes. The installation, produced and supported by Fondazione Prada and Legendary Entertainment, is a six-and-a-half-minute solo experience that both blurs and binds together the superficial lines between subject and bystander. Thanks to cutting-edge virtual reality technology, visitors can walk around a vast space and relive an intense fragment of the journey taken by a group of refugees. After the preview at Cannes, ‘CARNE y ARENA’ will be presented in full at the Fondazione Prada’s premises in Largo Isarco, Milan between June and December 2017.
