Miu Miu has released two new joyful and playful products for the spring that refuse to be pigeon-holed: ‘pareo’ skirts and multicoloured ‘Ollie’ sneakers, now on sale in all stores.
Inspired by journeys in far-off countries in continents as diverse as Asia and Africa, the ‘pareo’ skirt, worn with the elegant nonchalance, simplicity and freedom of spirit that set Miu Miu apart, is suitable for a wide range of situations and an infinite kaleidoscope of unique individual interpretations. The skirt is available in cotton voile Vichy, ‘planet’ prints or a crêpe de chine check – all channelling optimism, as carefree as the women that wear them, and instantly recognisable.
An ‘Ollie’ is one of the best-known skateboarding tricks, and it is the skating world that provides the inspiration for Miu Miu’s new sneaker. The main theme that binds this colourful collection together is a sense of freedom and irony, designed to lift the spirits: from shoes in sugary shades of pink and blue to sophisticated and tongue-in-cheek models with feathers or clusters of crystals, not to mention monochrome versions, each design is aimed at independent and self-confident women. They are available in gabardine, denim, satin and Nappa leather in a wide variety of colours.
