The new Miu Miu collection is inspired by a special affinity with the astrological sign after which the Chinese New Year is named: the Monkey is witty, lively and very intelligent, and these have always been recurring traits at Miu Miu.
These are iconic products and materials, dominated by matelassé and cloquet leather, alongside contrasting piping and the recently introduced plex chains.
The inspiration for all this is Chinese fireworks, which are believed to chase off evil spirits: red lights up the products, colouring their details, whilst the accessories are decorated with small horns and amulets.
Red also dominates the design of the dedicated window displays, with the setting reinterpreting some of the brand’s iconic elements, such as damask and white canvas.
