A response to the overload of contemporary culture – a process of distillation, of filtration through clothes.
Dispersion and reunion of different elements, unexpected and unanticipated, composed on the body. Juxtaposition here becomes an act of creation.
An analysis of dress. Pieces are liberated from seemingly inherent hierarchies, contrasted in precise consonance. Prada uniform can occupy the same position as evening dress, combined atypically with notions of the typically feminine in recompositions of a new elegance.
Garments are shaped unconventionally around the body, structures minimized. A lightness, moving around the form. There are radical reconsiderations of the fundamental properties of clothes – skirts find their points of suspension from the shoulder, brassières have shape without structure.
Meanings are reevaluated, shifted through their adjacencies. They fluctuate and change, both within singular garments and on the individual. Pieces have an inherent flexibility, an ability to adapt – and each of these compositions transforms constantly, insistently, in reaction to the now.
Prada’s unique pairings and opposing references felt personal and soulful. During times when sameness reigns supreme, a collection like this offers up new hope for strong points of view.

Together Prada and Simons stay a step (or three) ahead: they’re just freer.

Once again, the duo is back in top form. This season, every garment is a hybrid; it results from the fusion of two known ideas to create a format that is both familiar and new.
