The simple lines may mask the complexity of the process and operations required to produce a Prada “Driving Shoe”. Therefore, a video was made to truly illustrate the craftsmanship involved in manufacturing this moccasin, characterised by its hand-stitched upper, the metal lettering on the band, leather insole and the rubber sole. Indeed, 80 cm2 of leather, about 100 nails (all of which are removed), 60 different parts, 12 hands and countless operations including no less than 10 quality controls are necessary to produce a pair of Driving shoes.
About 100,000 pairs are produced every year and, so far, only 1,000,000 pairs have been made.
