Starring top model Vanessa Moody and inspired by a contemporary vision of British Mod culture and its bold and fascinating ideology, the video dedicated to the new Prada Mod Eyewear collection returns to the key elements of the movement that defined an entire generation. Intelligent, internationally-minded and free thinking, the Mod identity was about more than just style: it imparted a way of life and a mental state.
In the film’s eight episodes Vanessa Moody displays strong and authentic femininity: as leader of an idealistic ‘Mod Tribe’, she seems to float through the post-industrial landscapes that surround her, while hidden messages inspired by Alan Sillitoe’s literary mantra of ‘Whatever people say I am, that’s what I’m not’ appear on screen.
The glasses in the Prada Mod collection, two pairs of sunglasses and two prescription models, turn the accepted view of beauty upside-down, playing provocatively with the rules of fashion: they have an elegant design, cleverly and creatively balancing references to the 1960’s and innovative contemporary notes with a sophisticated metal frame and acetate details.
The collection is available in Prada stores and at selected opticians all over the world.
