On 3 May Fondazione Prada launched its Cinema programme, with a packed schedule of ten showings a week of films in their original languages.
The project stems from reflection on the purpose of the movie theatre at Fondazione Prada’s headquarters, which since 2003 has collaborated with major institutions, including the Tribeca Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival, and directors including Roman Polanski, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Wes Anderson and David O. Russell.
The schedule is split into four weekly sections: Thursdays are dedicated to collections of films connected to the foundation’s exhibitions; Soggettiva on Fridays involves cinematographic works chosen by figures from various cultural spheres; Indagine on Saturdays hosts first views or unreleased films; and Origine on Sundays offers restored films dug up from the past.
The full schedule of showings and information on how to book seats can be found on the website fondazioneprada.org
