The Luna Rossa TP52 was launched on 13 May in Trieste in the presence of Patrizio Bertelli – President of team Luna Rossa Challenge -, Max Sirena -Skipper and Team Director of Luna Rossa Challenge- and of the local authorities. Luna Rossa TP52 will participate in the international TP52 Super Series circuit 2018 in preparation for the 36th America’s Cup. Godmother of the event was the 17 year old sailor from Trieste Luisa Penso, a promising athlete in the 420 class, who christened the yacht by breaking the champagne bottle, as is tradition, on the bow of Luna Rossa. In this occasion the new Luna Rossa Challenge sailing team was also presented. To be noted that the TP52 Luna Rossa is not the AC75 class yacht who will compete in the 36th America’s Cup. The design of the official race yacht is underway and, as per the regulations, the launch will take place after 31st of March 2019.
