The latest chapter of the 365 advertising campaign, dedicated to the Spring/Summer 2018 Prada womenswear and menswear collections, combines reality with the virtual world, reimagining images from real life as comic book scenes. The men’s campaign follows a fictional narrative created especially by the artists Ollie Schrauwen and James Jean, while the women’s campaign draws on the work of eight female cartoonists and illustrators, as well as the archive of Tarpé Mills.
They are inspired both by the aesthetics and the ideology of comics, creating a graphical and narrative sequence in which a sense of youthfulness, dynamism, energy and even heroism emanates from Willy Vanderperre’s photos. The images are as strong and powerful as the characters they represent, with a tangible impact and voices that cut through in a sequence that evokes the multifaceted world of Prada.
