The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, where Mario Prada opened the first Prada store in 1913, celebrated the 150th anniversary of its opening with an exceptional gala dinner attended by 900 guests, sat at 90 elegantly laid tables that completely filled the shopping centre known as ‘Milan’s living room’. As well as a celebration and social occasion, the event, chaired by the mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala and organised by the municipality of Milan in collaboration with the Caritas association, raised funds for La Cena Sospesa (The Pending Dinner), a project designed to help the poorest in society.
The Prada Group was in attendance, with 60 guests from its various brands with shop space in the gallery: Prada, Church’s and Marchesi 1824. They were sat at six tables in the ‘octagon’ at the heart of the gallery, in front of the Prada womenswear and menswear stores.
