Miuccia Prada and Alejandro G. Iñárritu received the red-carpet treatment and a dinner in honour of the four-time Oscar-winning Mexican director at the restaurant ‘Fred l’Ecailler’ at the world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival of ‘CARNE Y ARENA (Virtually Present, Physically Invisible)’, a virtual reality installation dedicated to the situation of migrants and refugees (see Prada Group Journal #7). The work was devised by Iñárritu and produced and supported by Fondazione Prada and Legendary Entertainment, and will be open to the public in its complete form at Fondazione Prada in Milan from 7 June 2017 to 15 January 2018.
In addition to Miuccia Prada and Alejandro Iñárritu, the event was attended by director of photography Emmanuel Lubezki, producer Mary Parent (Legendary Entertainment), Germano Celant, Artistic and Scientific Superintendent at Fondazione Prada, and international stars from the worlds of cinema and culture, including Thierry Frémaux, General Delegate of the Cannes Film Festival, the directors Faith Akin, Sergio Castellitto, Alfonso Cuarón, Guillermo Del Toro, Nicolas Winding Refn, Paolo Sorrentino and Agnès Varda, actors Jessica Chastain, Leonardo DiCaprio, Elle Fanning, Gael García Bernal, Diego Luna, Uma Thurman, Jasmine Trinca and Christoph Waltz, the artist Francesco Vezzoli, the writers and screenwriters Neil Gaiman and Margaret Mazzantini, top model Anja Rubik and producers Benoit Chang, Steve Golin, Paul Hook and David Linde.
