The Prada Group starts a three-year collaboration with Startupbootcamp - the largest European network of multi-corporate backed accelerators helping startups scale internationally – as Supporting Partner, for the launch of a global innovation center in Milan dedicated to the fashion industry. The initiative, entitled “FashionTech”, will involve the selection and support of the 30 best innovative startups – ten per year - offering advanced technological solutions that address market challenges. The Prada Group will be particularly interested in startups that create innovative solutions in marketing, retail, and value chain.
“Innovation means radical thinking: as part of this programme, Prada will truly immerse itself in an inspiring creative process, drawing on new ideas and connections”.
On May 26, Startupbootcamp hosted the first Virtual Demo Day event, dedicated to the 10 best international startups in fashion, selected last December within the Fashion Tech project and accelerated throughout 13 intense weeks. The webinar was conceived as an opportunity for companies in the fashion industry to dialogue and learn. Over 150 mentors and 200 innovation experts participated, together with the companies supporting the initiative, including Prada in the role of Supporting Partner.
On December 11 and 12, the 17 international startups were invited to participate to the "Final Selection Days" in Milan in the campus hosted by WeWork, during which the teams pitched their ideas to more than 150 professionals - managers of the program partner companies, mentors and investors - who, at the end of the meetings, selected the teams to be accelerated during a period of 13 weeks.
At the end of the global tour lasted 2 months - the accelerator engaged startups in 12 fashion capitals - Startupbootcamp selected 17 international startups from a shortlist of over 1200 applications. The Prada Group hosted three Global FashionTech Scouting Tour events at its offices in New York, Dubai and Shanghai for three days of selection of the best startups enrolled in the project, on 2, 14 and 17 October 2019 respectively.
